Day Two Medical Mission

Today was another incredible but very exhausting day of seeing patients. We broke a record for the number of patients seen with 322. 124 of the those patients were children/infants. In a seperate toom, the dentists partnering with us saw over 160 patients.

Today was conistent with yesterday in the fact that we saw many patients with high blood pressure and diabetes. Two of the patients seen today had blood sugars higher than 600 and a blood-pressure over 200/100. Both of those patients were then transferred to the emergency room by the pastor and treatment taken care of.

Part of what we assisted the community with was education on diet to lower the B/P and ways to control the blood sugar. The areas we are treating patients,  have no access to medical care and meds so they need education on what to do with the resources available. A special thank you to team members Matt, Priscilla,  Dr. Santin and DR church member volunteers for their Spanish translation they provided us. We could not have done it without them.

  1. You all are such an inspiration! Thank you for posting pictures as it makes it feel a tiny bit like we’re with you. And definitely with you spirit. Kudos to the Construction crew too. Exciting to see the progress in a short period of time.
